1. He works in a hospital.
【辨析】in hospital与in a hospital
(1)in hospital意为“住院”,中间不加冠词,不表示具体场所,表示抽象意义;
(2)in a hospital或in the hospital则表示“在医院中”,中间用冠词则表示具体场所。
如:Mike isn’t at school. He is still in hospital. 迈克不在学校,他还在住院。
2. They look after Rose at home.
(1) look after 是固定短语,意为“照顾”、“照看”,此处的after 是介词,后面可以加名词或代词作宾语。look after 与take care of 同义,可以互换。如:
Please look after your brother, Tom. Please take care of your brother, ,请照看好你的弟弟。
(2) at home 表示“在家”的意思。at 是介词,表示的位置是某一点。一般用来指比较小的地方,如:车站、村庄、建筑物、城镇等。如:
at school gate 在校门口
