毕谹,男,汉族, (1911—2010)1911年5月18日出生,云南师范大学外语学院教授。
1936年毕业于上海圣约翰大学英文系,在校时曾任《约翰声》学报总编辑,被视为英俊才子。先生12岁就开始学写诗,青少年时已有佳作。大学毕业后为逃战乱,沿长江而上至三峡夔门留诗曰:“百川到此无歧路,万里如今况独行。水落舟从危壑出,年来草与故城平。大王风歇花还舞,神女梦深月自明。最是秋江欺客子,断猿声里夜潮生。”旅居重庆约七年后到昆明,也留下诗作《昆明竹枝词》:“一树垂杨一杜鹃,自家家住篆塘前。迎门潮水深千尺,郎在潮头何处边。”
1949-1951年毕老师在云南师大附中任教。后调到云南师范大学外语系当教授,主讲美国文学及翻译,并指导研究生。又曾在中文系担任中国文学史唐宋部分课程。著作中翻译方面主要有英国芭蕾的《名门街》,美国尤金·奥涅尔的《女儿悲》、《马可百万》及全用文言文译述的《英美名诗评介》。2002年,获中国翻译工作协会授予的资深翻译家荣誉证书。创作方面则有《柳唱》、《烬余》、《短笛》、《长竽》等诗集及京剧剧本《辛弃疾》等,著作甚丰。
2002年中国翻译协会授予“资深翻译家”荣誉称号。

王佐良,1916年2月12日生,诗人、翻译家、教授、英国文学研究专家,浙江上虞人。1995年1月19日,于北京去世。
1929年至1934年,在武昌文华中学读书。1939年毕业于西南联合大学外语系(原清华大学外语系),留校任教,1947年赴英国牛津大学为攻读英国文学研究生。
1949年回国后,历任北京外国语学院教授、英语系主任、副院长。
