Abstract: With the intensification of climate change, heavy rainfalls have become one of the important climate issues faced by various regions around the world. As a coastal city, Yuhuan City is seriously affected by frequent heavy rainfalls, which have a significant impact on the local residents' production and daily life. This article takes Yuhuan City as the research object, systematically studies its heavy rainfall characteristics, and analyzes the causes and impacts of heavy rainfall. Through in-depth research, the results show that climate change and topographic factors are the main causes of frequent heavy rainfalls in Yuhuan City. This study provides theoretical support for future disaster prevention and mitigation work in Yuhuan City.

1. Introduction
Heavy rainfall refers to a weather phenomenon where a large amount of rain falls over a short period of time. Frequent heavy rainfalls not only have a great impact on urban transportation, agricultural production, and people's lives but also can lead to serious consequences such as flooding. Therefore, the study of the characteristics of heavy rainfall is of great theoretical and practical significance.
2. Research Methods on Heavy Rainfall Characteristics
In this study, we used multiple research methods to analyze the characteristics of heavy rainfall in Yuhuan City. First, we collected historical heavy rainfall data in Yuhuan City and statistically analyzed the data. Second, we used numerical simulation to simulate the heavy rainfall process under different scenarios to better understand the formation and evolution mechanisms of heavy rainfall. Finally, we combined remote sensing technology to monitor the rainfall distribution in Yuhuan City to obtain more accurate heavy rainfall data.
3. Heavy Rainfall Characteristics in Yuhuan City
By analyzing the historical heavy rainfall data in Yuhuan City, we found that the frequency of heavy rainfall has been increasing year by year. Especially in recent years, the phenomenon of frequent heavy rainfalls has become more severe. In addition, we also found obvious spatio-temporal unevenness in the distribution of heavy rainfall in Yuhuan City, which means heavy rainfall generally occurs in specific time periods and areas.
4. Analysis of the Causes of Heavy Rainfall
There are many causes of heavy rainfall, including climate change, topographic factors, human activities, etc. Through the analysis of the formation mechanism of heavy rainfall in Yuhuan City, we found that climate change and topographic factors are the main causes of frequent heavy rainfalls in Yuhuan City. Climate change leads to an increase in temperature and water vapor content, increasing the probability of heavy rainfall. Topographic factors affect the distribution of heavy rainfall, making certain areas more prone to heavy rainfall.
5. Impacts of Heavy Rainfall and Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Work
The impacts of heavy rainfall on Yuhuan City mainly include traffic congestion, land inundation, and farmland erosion. In order to reduce the impact of heavy rainfall on the city, it is necessary to strengthen heavy rainfall monitoring and early warning work and formulate corresponding emergency plans. In addition, it is also important to improve the urban drainage system and strengthen mountain protection to reduce the losses caused by heavy rainfall.
6. Conclusion
Through the study of heavy rainfall characteristics in Yuhuan City, we found that the frequent heavy rainfall phenomenon is closely related to climate change and topographic factors. In order to reduce the losses caused by heavy rainfall, it is necessary to strengthen heavy rainfall monitoring and early warning work and formulate corresponding disaster prevention and mitigation plans. In addition, it is also important to improve the urban drainage system and enhance the city's protection capacity. These measures have important guiding significance for future disaster prevention and mitigation work in Yuhuan City.
