Title: Practice and Reflection on the Training Model of International Business Talents with a Focus on Sino-British Orientation - A Case Study of East China Normal University
Introduction:
In the era of economic globalization, international trade has become increasingly important, leading to a growing demand for professionals with international business expertise. As a response to this trend, universities around the world have designed specialized programs in international business to meet the demands of the job market. This paper aims to analyze the training model of international business talents with a focus on Sino-British orientation at East China Normal University (ECNU). Through examining the practical aspects and reflecting on the effectiveness of the current model, this study also proposes potential improvements.
1. Overview of the Training Model:
ECNU's Sino-British program in international business is designed to cultivate students' comprehensive abilities in business communication, cross-cultural management, and international trade practices. The curriculum comprises both specialized courses in international business and language courses to enhance students' English proficiency. Additionally, students are encouraged to participate in internships and abroad exchange programs to gain practical experience.
2. Practice of the Training Model:
Specialized Curriculum: ECNU provides a range of courses covering various aspects of international business, including international marketing, international finance, and global supply chain management. These courses help students develop a solid theoretical foundation and practical skills.
Language Training: Recognizing the importance of language proficiency in international business, ECNU emphasizes English language training throughout the program. Intensive language courses are offered to enhance students' English communication, writing, and presentation skills.
Internships and Exchange Programs: ECNU actively collaborates with international corporations and organizations, providing students with opportunities for internships and exchanges abroad. 3. Reflections on the Training Model:
Practical Orientation: The current model emphasizes practical training through internships and exchange programs. Industry Engagement: Collaboration with the business community should be strengthened to ensure that the curriculum remains up-to-date with industry trends. Regular workshops, seminars, and company visits can provide students with insights into the challenges and dynamics of international trade.
Language Proficiency: While language training is emphasized, a more tailored approach should be adopted to address individual students' language needs. Online language resources, interactive language labs, and language exchange programs can supplement classroom instruction.
Conclusion:
The training model of international business talents with a focus on Sino-British orientation at ECNU has proven effective in imparting theoretical knowledge, language skills, and practical experience. However, improvements can be made to enhance the practical and industry-oriented aspects of the curriculum. By incorporating guest lectures, case studies, and simulations, and strengthening collaborations with the business community, ECNU can further equip students with the necessary skills to succeed in the ever-changing global business environment. Moreover, a more personalized approach to language training will help students develop stronger language proficiency and better communication abilities. Through continuous evaluation and improvement of the training model, ECNU can continue to produce well-rounded international business professionals.
