Reading is very important in our life. We can get knowledge through reading. It can not only open our minds but also make us more intelligent. Besides, reading is also one of the most important ways to learn a foreign language like English.

：英语为一名语言教学，应重视学生的实际语言能力和综合能力的培养。英语阅读作为语言技能的重要组成部分，也属于语言输入的主要环节之一，在英语教学中有着很重要的地位。

在新课程的改革下，对于学生的英语综合能力有了更清晰，更高等的要求。尤其是在培养学生英语阅读能力方面有了更明确的要求。教师在平常的教学中，不仅要培养学生的阅读理解能力，还应该要增加学生的课外阅读量。学生的阅读不能只满足于选择正确答案，应该有意识地培养自己的阅读能力，而这种能力不是一朝一夕就能够培养出来的，它是日积月累的结果，是坚持不懈努力的成果。教师在平常的教学中可以为学生阅读前做好必要的铺垫及激发兴趣的工作。在教授阅读材料之前教师可以先向学生讲述阅读材料的背景来历，介绍英美西方国家的文化风俗，并通过多种方式来激发学生猜测生词的好奇心，引起阅读的兴趣。
阅读材料的短文内容十分广泛，包括人物传记，政治经济，天文史地，社会文化，科普小说，风土人情，幽默笑话等等。而考察的题目一般就是短文中容易误解和忽略之处，且问题的方式灵活多变，所用的句型和词语也往往不同于短文中相应的句型和词语。所以，要提高阅读能力，必须掌握丰富的词汇知识和必要的语法知识，并且掌握英美文化差异及历史背景也是非常重要的。因此，学生在平时进行课外阅读的时候就应积累英语国家的风土人情及历史发展的常识，同时对天文，科普，地理等日常生活的各方面都要有所了解。不仅如此，掌握正确的英语阅读技巧也是很重要的。

在完成阅读题时一定要学会快速阅读，从整体上理解短文的中心思想及大意，揣测并领会出出题人的意图。切忌逐词逐句地去感知短文材料，看一句或看一小段就完成一个题目。把握关键词是必要的。通过关键词来推断文章的思路和作者的态度。短文的开头和结尾往往是全文内容的概括，对于理解全文和对文章的推理都有很大的帮助。
认真阅读，揣测生词。
教师在平常的阅读课中就应指导学生掌握好的阅读方法，养成良好的阅读习惯。教导学生不要一遇到生词就查字典，要学会猜词。如果一遇到生词就查字典，这样会影响阅读速度。另外，一个单词往往会有多张意思，如果不联系文章特有的情境，很难确定生词的明确含义。学生可以根据文章的上下文和构词法等规则大胆地去猜测生词在此短文中的意思。如能猜中词意，学生就会很有成就感，慢慢地，熟练地掌握这种技巧，逐步提高英语阅读水平。
细审题意，获取信息。

在新课改的指导下，现在短文的理解题很少能从原文中直接找到答案，要经过分析推理，从已有的信息点中判断文章的意思，根据作者的意图，凭借学生自己平时积累的社会文化知识和生活经验，加上短文中所没有明确表述的却又与主题有着联系的思想和信息，进行合乎逻辑的推理，从而选择出正确的答案。而为了更好地理解文章，需要找出主题句。主题句一般位于句首，有时会出现在句中或句末。把握好主题句能更好地理解全文。主题句是每段的关键内容，只有学会了把握主题句，对学生提高英语阅读理解能力有着举足轻重的作用。
建议学生在平时的生活中多读一些浅显易懂的英文文章，再上升到英美的原著简写本。刚开始，教师可让学生尝试阅读一些英文小故事，随着知识的积累和能力的沉淀，学生有了阅读的状态和感觉，。这样不断地扩大阅读量，学生就可以尽快地提高阅读理解能力，同时又扩大了词汇量，沉淀了很多英语知识及能力。
在平常的教学中，教师可以要求学生背诵精彩的段落和课文。长期坚持，必定会有很大的收获。经常背诵课文可以增强学生的英语语感，有了强烈的语感，阅读能力就会在不知不觉中提高。
对文章进行归类阅读。学生可以把自己读过的所有文章按照主题分类：校园类，医学类，家庭类，环境类，推理类等等，再按类别复习这些文章。这样，不仅能系统掌握某一类别文章常用的词汇，也能把握该类文章常用的词汇，也能把握该类文章的结构特点和出题规律。
而学生对于阅读题产生畏惧心理，主要有以下几个原因：

reading classics have significant implication for a person’s development. a sea of classic books are usually written by a lot of well-known folks. different kinds of books tell us their own special subjects, which teach us how to effectively do our jobs, carry out problems from different parts and do a successful man.
recently people who tend to read classics are shrinking, while in the past classic staff had a large popularity for all kinds of individuals. why does this phenomenon come out? the reason for this problem is from many aspects, mainly as follows.
the first reason is that people do not have enough time to read and reluctant to spend their valuable time in books. as the economic development is becoming increasingly fast, a multitude of characters surge into their money.
in order to earn more incomes, they kill their all time in their jobs, and they even don’t want to take a little of their all time to read. the second reason for causing this phenomenon is next.
nowadays piracy books become growing popular, especially classics. this problem, to some extent, affects people’s moods and interests of reading classics.
so a wealth of individuals of reading classics turn to dramatically shrinking.
