摘要
托马斯·哈代是英国文学史上最杰出的作家之一。在其写作生涯中,他对人与自然、男性和女性的关系一直给予高度关注。凭借着敏锐的洞察力,他观察到自然和女性之间的亲密关系。在其诸多作品中,他将女性和大自然融合在一起进行描述,以大自然的壮丽景色来烘托女性内心的情感世界和命运的变化。此外,他将女性和自然看做一个密切联系、不可分割的整体,认为这二者同样遭受父权制社会的践踏和蹂躏。
小说《德伯家的苔丝》,作为哈代“性格与环境小说”中最典型的一部,则充分体现了他的生态女性主义理想观。本文即尝试运用生态女性主义理论来解读苔丝的命运,探讨小说中所体现的生态女性主义意识。本文第一章是对作者和作品的简单介绍;第二章是文献综述,国内外对该作品的研究成果;第三章阐述生态女性主义理论;第四章分析苔丝命运与自然之间的亲密联系及导致苔丝悲剧命运的根源;第五章解读苔丝在父权制社会的压迫下顽强抗争的女性主义意识;最后一章总结性地阐释哈代在小说中所表现的渴望实现社会中男性与女性、人类与自然和谐的生态女性主义思想。

ABSTRACT
Thomas Hardy, one of the most well-known writers in the history of English literature. During his writing career, he has paid much attention to the relations between human and nature, men and women. With his keen insight, he not only sees the intimacy between women and nature, but also makes them together, and nature is served as a foil for women’s inner emotional world and change of their fate. In addition, he considers women and nature as an integral whole. In terms of their fate, they are both trampled and torn by the patriarchal society.
Tess of the D’Urbervilles, as the most typical one of Hardy’s “novels of character and environment”, fully reflects his idea of ecofeminism. This thesis tries to reinterpret Tess’s fate from the perspective of ecofeminism in order to discuss the awareness of ecofeminism displayed in this novel. Chapter one makes a brief introduction of Hardy and his works. Chapter two is the literary review, which elaborates the researches about the novel at home and aboard. Chapter three introduces the theory of ecofeminism. Chapter four analyses Tess’s fate
