The date for this year’s BSO is October 11-17 and the mission is to make an extra effort during the week to switch on to switching off all unnecessary appliances in your home, school, organisation or business. Last year the reduction in energy use across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland during Big Switch Off Week was equivalent to an impressive 66,000 100 watt light bulbs being turned off for seven days.
