语言是文化的载体,语言的学习离不开文化的学习,只有在真正了解语言所包含的文化含义并且能成功地运用于跨文化交际的实践中,才算是真正掌握一门语言。因而英语语言教学离不开对学习者跨文化意识的培养。高中英语新课标改革大纲中把高中英语课程定义为提高学生英语语言能力和人文素养的重要课程。由此可见跨文化意识在高中英语教学中的重要意义。其次,无论从新课标改革大纲中,还是从高考试题题型改革的配比中我们都不难看出,阅读教学是高中英语课程中的重中之重,阅读能力的培养也是语言能力培养的主要目标。然而,在我国的高中英语教学中,教师和学生的跨文化意识现状不容乐观, 比起语言基础教学,文化教学的概念没有得到普及和重视。本文通过分析当前中学英语教学存在的跨文化教育缺失问题,阐明了培养跨文化意识的意义和作用,并进一步的陈述了如何通过英语教学中的阅读课程来提高学生对英语学习的热情,自主学习的能力,及对双语间跨文化的认同。

As we all know, language is the carrier of culture and language study is closely connected with cultural study. One has to truly understand the cultural meaning contained in the language and essfully apply it to cross-munication to fully master a kind of language. That’s why English teaching can not be apart with cross-cultural awareness teaching. According to the authority standard of the High School Curriculum Reform, High School English is defined as an important course to enhance the students’ language ability as well as humanistic and cultural abilities, which shows the importance of cross-culture awareness cultivation. Meanwhile, we can also find it through the reform of the National College Entrance Examination that reading class is considered to be the major part of English class and reading ability is one of the most essential abilities in high school English learning. However, the condition of cultivating cross-culture awareness in English class in China at present is not optimistic. The learning of cultural awareness doesn’t get as much attention as that of basic language skills.
