Abstract
Objective To investigate the protein expression of COX-2 and its functions and possible mechanisms in cell proliferation ,differentiation and metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma . Methods The immunohistochemistry was used to measure the protein expression of COX-2, VEGF, PCNA in 62 cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma and poorly-differentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line HNE-1 cells. The cell growth curve was measured with MTT method, and cell cycle was measured by FCM. Results 1. COX-2 expression was positive in nasopharyngeal carcinoma and poorly- differentiated nasopharyngeal carcinoma cell line HNE-1 cells ,but negative in normal nasopharyngeal mucosa. The positive percentage of COX-2 protein expression in nasopharyngeal carcinoma tissue was %. 2.
