Packing: It is an art. The real art of packing is to get the contents into a nice, compact shape that will stay that way during the roughest journey. Every buyer expects that his goods will reach him in perfect condition. The seller must try to pack the goods in good way. It has been estimated that as much as 70% of all cargo loss could be prevented by proper packing and marking.

Marking: The outer packing of exports is usually marked clearly with the identifying symbols and numbers in lines with the instructions of the customer in order to enable the customs authorities, the steamship clerks and the customers to identify the packages. So most importantly, marks should be permanent and easily read at a glance.
