汽车诞生一百多年来,其技术经过不断地发展,到现在已经成为集传统工业和高新科技为一身的典型的机电产品,而围绕汽车工业的庞大工业体系也发展成为世界上屈指可数的企业群体。尽管在各个国家都有许多传统的机械工业陷入困境,甚至面临巨大的危机,但汽车工业却一直保持着良好的发展势头,其发展水品也被公认为衡量一个的标志之一。
在汽车制造过程中汽车总部置是重要环节,而车身的总部置又是其中的重要组成部分。不同用途的汽车总部置设计是不同的,即使同一类车,因其用途和性能要求不同,所选的各总成的类型及尺寸不同,经过总布置设计,汽车各部分总成的相对位置和乘客室的尺寸既可以确定,按这些总成的外部轮廓并考虑到适当的间隙,就可以确定汽车的基本形状。
车身总布置设计是汽车总布置设计的重要组成部分。在一个企业中,汽车总部置通常由整车部门负责,而车身总部置由通常有车身部门负责,两个部门的任务必须相互配合,协同工作。车身总布置的任务是把人员和货物安排在恰当的位置。
