This is the latest revision to the Delphi Manufacturing System Manuals which were originally published
in October of 1996. Based on lessons learned in the past several years, changes have been made to
improve the overall implementation process.
The efforts of this latest revision were intended to reemphasize flow as the foundation for essful
implementation of the Delphi Manufacturing System (DMS). To plish this the Vision and Master
Planning Section in the Implementation Guide was replaced with Site Planning and Value Stream
Mapping “How To’s.” Efforts were made throughout the manuals to emphasize flow as a primary
interdependent element and to improve the supporting narratives and How To’s.
An additional revision cycle will immediately follow the issuance of these manuals. It will focus on the
integration of the Manufacturing System Development Proces
