I would like to express my gratitude to all those who helped me during the writing of this
thesis.
I want to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Professor Yang Qingping, my
supervisor. It has been a great privilege and joy to work under his guidance and with his
encouragement. I thank him for opening my eyes to the wonders of two of the most precious
gifts we have: the human mind and the ability to share what is in it with others. He has
provided useful reading lists, valuable advice and patient directions for me. I have benefited a
lot from his knowledge and inspiring thoughts. I am also deeply indebted to all the other
tutors and teachers in translation studies for their direct and indirect help to me.
Then special thanks should go to my friends and classmates at the Henan University who
have put considerable time and effort into ments and draft.
I should finally like to express my gratitude to my beloved parents who have always
been helping me out of difficulties and supporting plaint all through these years.
Abstract
The word “ecology” e into the view of the public and got attention around the
world in recent years. It emphasizes the harmonious coexistence with the nature. Gradually,
some interdiscipline subjects such as ecological economics, ecophilosophy and ecological
politics have emerged. Based on this, in 2004, Hu Gengshen, professor of Tsinghua University,
introduced Darwin’s principle of “natural selection” and “survival of the fittest” to translation
studies; he proposed “translation as adaptation and selection”.
