Their insights have enlarged my horizon and deepened prehension of English language and but not least, my thankswould go to my beloved friends and family for their loving considerations and great confidence in my study along this 《边城》是沈从文的代表著作,在中国文学文学史上享有盛誉。自《边城》问世70余载,共出现四个全译本,前两个译本已鲜有人问津,目前戴乃迭译本和金介甫译本相对盛行。以现有资料来看,国内外学者对于《边城》原文进行了充分研究,但对于其译本的系统研究为数不多。从翻译适应选择论的角度尚未有先例。有鉴于此,本文选择将《边城》的翻译作为研究对象,采用胡庚申的翻译适应选择论作为理论基础对其进行研究。翻译适应选择论,强调译者与翻译生态环境的互联互动,对翻译的本质,过程,标准,原则和方法以及翻译现象等给予了新的解释。笔者认为在翻译适应选择论和《边城》译本的结合方面大有深入挖掘的必要和可能。本文依托翻译适应选择论,对比分析《边城》最新的两个译本——戴乃迭译本(1981)和金介甫译本(2009),主要围绕三方面展开:(1)以原文为典型要件的翻译生态环境对译者做了怎样的选择,或者说作为译者,戴乃迭和金介甫适应了什么样的翻译生态环境;(2)以译者为典型要件的翻译生态环境对译文做了怎样的选择,或者说戴乃迭和金介甫如何选择译文;(3)作为适应性选择的结果,戴乃迭和金介甫的译本是否能够满足翻译适应选择论的译评标准而“适者长存”。通过充分的对比分析和实例论证,得出结论:戴乃迭和金介甫的两个译本都是译者在各自翻译生态环境(社会环境,个人能力动机和文本环境)中进行适应和选择后的结果。从多维度转换来看,戴乃迭选择的词句和风格适应了当时背景文化缺乏的译语读者。相比而言,金介甫为了满足
