The Lesser Key of Solomon . MacGregor Mathers and Aleister Crowley [1904] This edition ofthe Lesser Key ofSolomon isbased onmanuscripts from the British Museum, edited bytwo prominent occultists. Although Mathers took lead onthe body ofthe text, Crowley's literary fingerprints are all over this book, such asthe polite sniping . Waite, the Preliminary Invocation ,and the essay The Initiated Interpretation of Ceremonial Magic ,which isclassic Crowley. This isaconsiderably cleaned upand modernized version ofthe Lesser Key, which isobviously intended tobeused asaworking document for serious magicians, rather than arigorous transcription ofthe source manuscripts. However, the information presented here dovetails with the other Goetic grimoires and this version isconsidered one ofthe best of this literature.
