　　以深化落实《西咸新区总体规划》确定的“西安国际化大都市的主城功能新区和生态田园新城”的定位为目标，将沣东新城定位为：
　　面向全国，建设统筹科技资源改革示范基地，打造西部能源中心和体育会展中心!
　　立足陕西，建设西安国际化大都市的重要板块和引领区，树立现代田园城市新标杆!
　　引领西咸，建设高新技术研发和现代服务业聚集区，打造区域经济增长新引擎、统筹发展新典范!
　　As the first urban area to be constructed under the conceived framework of Xi’an being an international metropolis, Fengdong New Town is bound to start in synchrony with the international metropolis and set the development pace of making Xi’an an international metropolis at the very start
