摘要：中国山水画不同于西方的风景画。它虽然也写实，但更多的属于精神情感 的传达。在山水画中，还有抽象意味的山水画，有以笔墨为中心的山水画，这些 山水画都不以造境为重要手段。但在这些不同类型的山水画之间，其核心目的， 都在传达个人的主观心绪、精神与情感。这样，我们可以把各种类型山水画这种 共同的精神范畴的追求称之为“意境”。所谓的意境是山水画的灵魂，意是情与 理的统一，境是形与神的统一。意境的特征，正是在这些互相制约、互相融合的 统一体中体现出来。“情与景汇，意与象通”，“意境”是艺术家的理想和感情 同客观的景象事物相统一而产生的意境，它使读者感到言外之意、弦外音、境外 味，受到感染和陶冶，从而提高思想情操。
