Introduction
Memo, short for memorandum, is a simple and efficient message that is used to remind people of or draw people's attention to certain matters. It usually omits(省略) the letterhead(信头), salutation(称呼), complimentary close(结尾敬语) and signature(签名) that are commonly used in business letters. It is efficient because it conveys the author's ideas quickly to the reader.
A memo may communicate information, announce policies, instruct(通知) employees, make requests or offer advice.

A well-written memo usually consists of the following parts:
Memo(or Memorandum)-It is the word written at the top center of the paper.
To-It is followed by the name of the receiver.
From-It is followed by the name of the sender.
Date-It is usually written in "Month Day, Year" form. It is better not to write the month in abbreviated form(缩写形式,简化形式).
Subject(主题)-It is the topic of the memo. It must be brief and clear.
Body-It is the message itself and offten written briefly(简短的).

A good memo body usually carries the following features
Use a conversation tone. Since the reader and the author are familiar with each other, you may use a conversational tone. You may use ordinary words, first-person pronouns, but it dosen's necessarily mean that you can be casual(随便的) with your writing.
Be brief. As a tool(手段) of efficient internal(内部的) communication, memos should be concise(简明的). You should avoid redundancy(冗余) in your message.
Have a single topic. An effective memo usually discusses a single topic; thus the reader may concentrate on the subject..
