The three articles in this unit are all concerned with different aspects of social life governed by a variety of laws. Reading them carefully, you can have a better insight into what people should do to run the society under more efficient and wholesome legal supervision .

Background Information
Lobbying group: practically all social and economic classes of Americans have their own groups to protect from or take advantage of the government’s actions. These special interest groups are often called lobbying groups or pressure groups. Such groups have existed through out the nation’s history, and their influence and number are still on the increase. The National Rifle Association is an example of a powerful and effective lobby. The NRA has been able to block the passage of most gun control legislation.
