主谓一致三原则：




由 with, together / along with, as well as, in addition to,
rather than, other than, but/except/ besides, including 等连
接的并列短语做主语，谓语动词和前面的主语一致。
An expert, together with some assistants, was sent there to
help in the work.

（百）分数+ of+ n, some/ part/ half/ most/ the rest of＋ｎ，
the majority/minority of + n，等做主语，谓语动词和后面的
名词保持一致。
The majority of doctors agree that smoking is extremely
harmful to health.

（1）由… or…, either… or…, neither…nor…, not…but…,
not only…but also…,等连接的并列短语做主语时，谓语动
词和靠的近的主语保持一致。
Neither the TV set nor the transistors are mine.
(2)There be 句型中若有几个并列成分做主语，谓语动词和
靠的近的主语一致。
There is a desk and two chairs in the room.
注意：
every…and (every) …, each…and (each)…, no…and (no)…
many a… and (many a)…, more than one…, many a… 等做
主语时，谓语动词用单数。
Many a boy and (many a ) girl has made the same mistake.
，如：
news, means, maths, plastics, physics, works 等。
The latest news is that the Loulan Beauty is being displayed in
Shanghai.
3. a/ the number of + 复数名词 做主语的情况
the number of + 复数名词 做主语，谓语动词用单数；
a number of + 复数名词做主语，谓语动词用复数。
eg) The number of road accidents and the deaths arising from
those accidents has increased greatly over the past year.
eg) A number of small streams converge into a vast ocean.
