This is the customer who entrusts the operation of collection to his bank. As well as being the exporter, he is the seller who initiates the collection process. In other words, he is the principal party who gives instructions to subsequent parties to act upon. He is also known as the drawer as he is the party who issues a bill of exchange drawn on the overseas buyer. By means of drawing a set of bills of exchange, a drawer is legally demanding payment from a drawee (buyer). Parties to a Collection Bank This is the bank to which the principal has entrusted the operation of the collection.
