Accordingly, shell finite elements are used in develop? ing the putational models. The models in Fig. 2 correspond to the mendations in [2, 3]. The KRS2791 wheel?boring machine is specially designed for the machining of one?piece rolled rail? road wheels. Such wheels correspond to a large 450?kg blank. Consequently, putational model of the wheel (Fig. 2f) must be taken into account in ? putational model of the machine’s supporting system. Operational experience with the wheel?boring machine shows that its spindle has the greatest influ? ence on the characteristics of the whole machines. Hence, a more putational model must be developed for the spindle unit. In contrast to classical boring machines, the spin? dle unit of the KRS2791 machine has plex con? figuration: it consists of the basic spindle within which there is a smaller oscillating spin
