现在，我代表中国共产党老河口市第七届委员会向大会作报告，请予审议。
中国共产党老河口市第八次代表大会，是“十一五”规划开局之年召开的一次代表大会，是一次承前启后、继往开来的重要会议。大会的主要任务是：高举理论和“三个代表”重要思想伟大旗帜，全面贯彻落实科学发展观，深入贯彻党的十六大及十六届三中、四中、五中、六中全会精神，团结带领全市广大党员干部和人民群众，解放思想，开拓创新，鼓舞斗志，凝聚力量，为老河口的快速崛起而努力奋斗。

中国共产党老河口市第七次代表大会是2003年12月召开的。在过去三年里，七届市委领导班子高举理论和“三个代表”重要思想伟大旗帜，认真落实科学发展观，紧紧抓住发展第一要务，大力实施“工业立市、三产活市、统筹发展、富民强市”战略，积极推进社会主义新农村建设，大力开展招商引资，突破性发展工业经济，国民经济呈现出由低谷走向复苏的发展势头，经济建设、政治建设、文化建设、社会建设和党的建设取得了新的成绩。先后被省委、省政府和襄樊市委授予“**省农村税费改革及综合配套改革先进县市”、“**省城市规划建设管理楚天杯”、“**省先进党委中心组”、“襄樊市双联双促先进单位”等荣誉称号。
