Abstract With the rapid development of social economy, people’s requirement for the preci- sion of wireless location services is increasing highly. At the same time, the developing UWBtechniques attract interest from all over the word. The special narrow-impulse of the narrow-impulse baseband UWB system can improves the performance of localiza- tion enormously. This project aims to achieve an indoor precision positioning system with UWB. An approach about construction of the tag location system based on Ultra-Wideband signal is presented. The proposed scheme doesn’t require strict synchronization among the base stations since it introduces an independent counter to record the time di?er- ences of arrival (TDOA). The proposed scheme can avoid error caused by asynchronous reference time and improve the location accuracy. Error analysis and simulation results are given. The simulation results showthat in the proposed IEEE channel the system eeds in achieving higher position accuracy than traditional TDOA scheme with reference t
