Abstract: W ith the modern machine gun’s increasing light mass, it is very important to get its dynam ic
characteristic for their firing accuracy. The modal analysis experiment based on LMS is built with the
hardware, software and the excitation system configured. The modal test is experimented for a machine gun
and the test data is also analyzed. The results p rovide theoretical basis for further imp roving the structure
dynam ic characteristic of the machine gun.
