”“结合生活情境了解平面上两条直线的平行和相交（包括垂直）关系”。由于射线和直线涉及无限的概念，与长方体、正方体、长方形、正方形等相比，在现实中没有“直线”的实物原型，所以教师在教学中，教师要给学生呈现大量的感性材料，通过引导学生观察，去建立图形的认识的表象，例如在认识角的时候，老师可以让学生先寻找生活中的角，红领巾 剪刀 钟面 扇形等，再观察实物上的角，通过对事物的观察与操作的过程，来认识它的特征与性质，这既符合了学生认知事物的规律，也符合了课程标准目标的要求，同时，教师要要求学生在此基础上进行抽象与想象。而对学生空间观念的建立与培养可能相对困难些，如一教师在教学三角形两边之和大于第三边这一性质时，他让学生操作当两条边之和和第三条边相等时能否拼成三角形，由于有一名学生在操作中有误差，也确实拼出了三角形，此时，这名教师便让学生去换个角度去想，你能够用三条边分别是3，5厘米和8厘米来说明这个问题吗，在这个过程当中，使学生体会到 3加5等于8，底下也是8，因为上和下线段是相等的，它是不可能形成三角形的，在这个想象的过程中，就使学生体会了三角形的三边关系。
　　 类似地，学生理解两条直线平行的位置关系也可以利用两根铁轨作为实物原型来描述，两根铁轨不相交以及它们之间的距离处处相等的事实，都揭示了平行线的本质。但铁轨无法总是笔直地延伸，所以在从实物到几何图形的抽象过程中还需要想象，这有助于学生建立和培养抽象能力和空间观念。
