为丰富老年人的文化生活 ，谷口村老年体育活动红红火火开展了，班子成员根据老人们锻炼的不同特点，分别组建了太极拳、象棋、钓鱼、老年舞、中国麻将等队伍。原来怕难为情的老年妇女通过登山、老年舞的锻炼觉得全身舒服多了，锻炼的情绪也更加高涨。
四、两委重视、健全制度，切实加强协会标准化管理
历届党支部、村委会十分重视村老年人协会建设，坚持把稳固和开展老年人协会摆上工作日程，并将其作为一项重要工作抓紧抓好。多年来，谷口村村老年协会组织机构健全，制度完善，活动正常，有专人负责老龄工作，老龄工作有制度、有方案、有总结。村委会由一名协会会长负责老年人工作。协会有章程，有会员名册，有活动场所。在村两委的热心关心下，老年人协会配有报纸杂志、棋牌，球类器材等文化、娱乐、体育设施，并制定相关的管理制度，定期检查、维护。老年人协会的活动及运作经费由村委会通过各种形式给予保障和支持。
