各级机关是党委、政府的运转载体和办事机构，在机关工作的共产党员，一定程度上代表和反映着机关的形象，代表和反映着党委、政府的形象。因此，机关共产党员创先争优，对于保持共产党员的先进性，进一步加强党组织的先进性建设意义重大，对于保持同人民群众的血肉联系，进一步加强干部作风建设影响深远。
　　那么，机关党员应如何创先争优呢？通过近一阶段的学习、观察和体会，我认为，重点应表达在八个方面：
　　一要表达在理想信念上。坚决的理想和信念是共产党员先进性的首要标志。在机关工作的共产党员，无论党龄长短、职务上下、职责大小，都要牢固树立共产主义理想和中国特色社会主义信念，自觉用马克思主义的立场、观点和方法认识世界，只有这样，才能不管遇到任何风浪险阻，始终保持昂扬的精神状态，时时在为党的事业奋斗中创先争优。
　　二要表达在不断学习上。学习是共产党员增强党性、提高本领、做好工作、创先争优的前提。特别是当前，国际竞争日趋剧烈，科学进步日新月异，经济全球化步伐加快，改革与建设的任务十分繁重。面对新形势新任务，要增强危机感、紧迫感，切实感受到“知识恐慌〞，抓紧学习、发愤学习、善于学习，学习现代化建设所需要的各种知识，用人类创造的优秀文明成果充实和提高自己，不断为胜任工作充电加油。不仅要向书本学，还要善于向实践学、向群众学，尊重群众的首创精神，及时总结群众创造的新经验，以形成正确的认识和科学的决策。
　　三要表达在勤政为民上。要坚持以人为本，把群众满意不满意、快乐不快乐作为一切工作的出发点，但凡涉及群众切身利益的事情，再小也要当作大事
