效劳性可以说是律师最直接的特征。律师提供效劳的内容既包括诉讼业务，也包括非诉讼业务，效劳的领域涉及到社会的方方面面，特别在西方世界，大到国家的大政方针，小到日常生活的各种小事，非有律师的参与不可。
