　　果断决策是成功的重要因素。时间是现代管理的一大资源。任何决策的作出都要求在一定的时间内完成，否则将会失去决策的意义。特别是在当今信息和知识经济时代，管理者要不失时机、把握机遇作出决策。拖延本身不仅常常坐失良机，而且还会带来新的风险。所以患得患失、瞻前顾后、举棋不定、当断不断等等，都必须避免。

　　决策是意志活动的重要心理成分，也是意志活动的一个阶段。在任何时候管理者都不要感情用事，以感情代替政策。坚韧的意志在决策中具有重要意义，管理者要培养自己意志的独立性、果断性、坚定性和自制力，以适应现代决策的需求。有毅力、意志坚强的人，不论在任何复杂困难的情况下都能保持自己目标的坚定性和行动的果敢性，既不轻举妄动又不优柔寡断。
