怀疑患有本规程规定疫病及临床检查发现其他异常情况的，按相应疫病防治技术规范进行实验室检测，并出具检测报告。实验室检测须由省级动物卫生监督机构指定的具有资质的实验室承担。
发现患有本规程规定以外疫病的，隔离观察，确认无异常的，准予屠宰；隔离期间出现异常的，按《病害动物和病害动物产品生物安全处理规程》（GB16548）等有关规定处理。
确认为无碍于肉食安全且濒临死亡的生猪，视情况进行急宰。
监督场（厂、点）方对处理患病生猪的待宰圈、急宰间以及隔离圈等进行消毒。

与屠宰操作相对应，对同一头猪的头、蹄、内脏、胴体等统一编号进行检疫。
头蹄及体表检查
视检体表的完整性、颜色，检查有无本规程规定疫病引起的皮肤病变、关节肿大等。

观察吻突、齿龈和蹄部有无水疱、溃疡、烂斑等。
