once 用作连词时，意为 “一旦 就 ”，用于连结时间状语从句，相当于
as soon as。

once 用作副词时，意为 “以前；一度；以前 ”。它是一个不确立的时间副词，其地点一般是内行为动词以前，系动词以后。
如：

他以前生活在美国，但此刻他生活在英国。
