二、连珠山镇发展情况和存在的问题
（一）基本情况
连珠山镇是全国100个重点小城镇建设试点镇之一，位于密山市区西部九公里处，地理位置优越，是我市西部的中心重镇，也是密山的工业基地。开发区扩区后，镇区划归开发区范围内，与密山市区形成哑铃型结构，两大组团相互融合的趋势越来越明显。连珠山镇镇区面积390公顷，镇区内有两横两纵主干道， 。目前连珠山镇有日供水能力1万吨水厂1坐， KVA 的二次变电所1座，小学和中学各1所，此外，电话与有线电视实现了全覆盖，与外界交通主要依赖方虎公路，也是与密山市区沟通联系的唯一通道。
（二）历史沿革
连珠山镇历史悠久，文化底蕴深厚，是密山最早的建制镇之一。上世纪初开始垦荒建设，解放前曾驻扎过大量侵华日军并建立了弹药库等军事设施，日军投降后在此建立了我国最早的军工生产重要基地之一——四七五厂，建国后是十万官兵开发北大荒的大本营，后来成为牡丹江农垦管理局及其所属部分单位的所在地，1957年经上级批准成立连珠山镇。2001年4月密山市重新进行行政区划，乡镇合并，将原连珠山乡与连珠山镇合并，并提出了编制新世纪连珠山镇总体规划，构筑未来建设与发展蓝图。
