斯嘉丽是一个从小生长在美国南方庄园的贵族小姐,从小就受到良好的教育,母亲也为她树立了道德教育的典范。但她却任性而且极具反叛精神,这充分体现在她对“男尊女卑”等世俗思想的挑战上。她不能容忍封建礼教中“女人对男人的依赖”。同时,她还勇于反抗父亲强加给她的婚姻。斯嘉丽敢于与父亲唱反调,极力主张恋爱自由和婚姻自主。斯嘉丽这种勇于反对家庭包办婚姻制度、敢于追求个性解放的性情,充分显现了她敢于与传统世俗礼教决裂的决心和勇气。
