不定代词something,nothing及little等后常用不定式做定语；
抽象名词time, way, reason, chance, ability, courage, opportunity, wish等后常用不定式做定语。
被修饰词前有序数词，the only,the very,the next等对其进行修饰时；
Eg:He was the best man to do the job.

表示将来的动作时，要用动词不定式做后置定语。如果不定式与被修饰词之间是逻辑上的主谓关系，不定式用主动(to do)形式；如果不定式与被修饰词之间是逻辑上的动宾关系，不定式用被动(to be done)形式。
Eg:The car to be bought is for his sister.
There be 句型中，做主语的名词或代词后可接不定式作定语。
