Key competence
This class focuses on cartoons, a type of film, and mainly talks about Mickey Mouse, an American cartoon image that is well known to students. Students learn about the status of cartoons in American culture through reading, especially the birth and fame of Mickey Mouse and the reasons why people like it. Step 1. Lead-in.

Introduce the topic of this lesson through the video display of Chinese cartoons to stimulate students' interest in learning and national pride.
Step 2. Pre-reading.
Listen to T’s introduction and learn about some information about Mickey Mouse.

Watch a video.
It was introduced into the first Western cartoon by playing video. Give students a prediction of what to expect.
Step 3. While-reading.

Observe the picture and make some predictions.
Read the passage quickly and match the main idea with each paragraph.
