Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area is considered as a fairy land due to its original nature, untouched land, fresh air and the mysterious atmosphere brought by the snow mountain, forest and lakes. It enjoys pleasant climate and beautiful colors all the year.

Jiuzhaigou is situated in the central south part of the Jiuzhaigou county of the Aba (阿坝) Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture(藏族羌族自治州) in Sichuan Province, China, being a tributary(支流) of the Baishuihe(白水河) River on the Jialingjiang River of the Changjiang water system. It is so named because the scenic area consists of nine Tibetan villages .九寨沟位于四川省阿坝藏族羌族自治州九寨沟县境内,是白水沟上游白河的支沟,以有九个藏族村寨而得名。

九寨沟海拔在2千米以上,遍布原始森林,山水形成于第四纪古冰川时期,现保存着大量第四纪古冰川遗迹,沟内分布一百零八个湖泊,有“童话世界”之誉。
