INTRODUCTION
Some studies on transmission insulators degraded in service under coastal and/or tropical conditions are mainly focused on the late ageing period and on the hydrophobicity behavior differences.
Scarce studies have been carried out focusing the incipient ageing of SiR insulators under tropical environmental conditions.
