题型简介
阅读理解部分包括快速阅读(Skimming and Scanning)和仔细阅读(Reading in Depth),测试学生获取书面信息的能力。
快速阅读
该部分要求考生运用略读和查读的技能从篇章中获取信息。略读考核学生通过快速阅读获取文章主旨大意或中心思想的能力。查读考核学生利用各种提示,如数字、大写单词、段首或句首词等,快速查找特定信息的能力。快速阅读理解部分采用的题型有句子填空、完成句子、判断是非等。
仔细阅读
该部分分为三种题型,分别为多项选择题型、选词填空和问答题。测试考生在不同层面上的阅读理解能力,包括理解主旨大意和重要细节、综合分析、推测判断以及根据上下文推测词义等。
分值比例
快速阅读占总分值的25%;仔细阅读占总分值的10%。
时间规划
快速阅读
该部分要求考生阅读1~2篇篇幅较长的文章或多篇短文,总长度约为1200词。答题时间为15分钟,阅读速度约每分钟120词。
仔细阅读
该部分要求考生阅读三篇短文。两篇为多项选择题型的短文理解测试,每篇长度400~450词。一篇为选词填空(Banked Cloze)或简答题(Short Answer Questions)。其中,选词填空篇章长度为250~300词,简答题篇章长度为400~450词。
文章难度
考题难度远高于大学四级英语考题,但距考研英语阅读理解的难度仍有一段距离。由于国内大学英语考试命题思路的连贯性和难度系数的逐级递增,可将六级英语的学习过程科学地定义为四级英语与考研英语的过渡与衔接。

Sustainable development is applied to just about everything from energy to clean water and economic growth, and as a result it has e difficult to question either the basic assumptions behind it or the way the concept is put to use. This is especially true in agriculture, where sustainable development is often taken as the sole measure of progress without a proper appreciation of historical and cultural perspectives.
To start with, it is important to remember that the nature of agriculture has changed markedly throughout history, and will continue to do so. Medieval agriculture in northern Europe fed, clothed and sheltered a predominantly rural society with a much lower population density than it is today. It had minimal effect on biodiversity, and any pollution it caused was typically localized. In terms of energy use and the nutrients(营养成分)captured in the product it was relatively inefficient.
