The present structure of the crust and the topography is the integrated e of earth evolution in the long geological history, which have undergone different tectonic regime in varied eras as a consequence of global geodynamic or regional stress. Consequently, tectonic setting should be taken into consideration at first when es to regional geological study. This essay focuses on Qinling mountains and the adjacent area and trys to give an overview of this area.
The tectonic setting
In the present global plate tectonic framework, China is located in the southeast part of Eurasian Plate, the Pacific Plate and related subduction zone to the east and Indian Plate and the induced collisional orogenic belt to the south (Fig 1).
Seated in the triple junction, China plates are controlled by special geodynamic setting that has played an significant role in plate movements and intraplate tectonics and approximately responsible for the temporal crustal structure and topography (for more details , .cn/jcdz/jcxltj/).
From the perspective of geological history, the evlution of China plates were controlled by Paleo-Tethys, Tethys-Pacific and Indian-Pacific structural systems respectively in the Phanerozoic econ, resulting in paleo-asian ocean tectoni
