Abstract: the cross-talk is one of the rarities of Chinese traditional arts, which originated from non-governmental circles in the late Qing Dynasty, with the main purpose of humour. And the quintessence of cross-talk's humour is jape. As the typical way of humour for cross-talk, jape has an ingenious design and repeated foreshadows as the special way of humour, which embody a concentrated reflection of the predominant cultures and wisdoms ic artists and scholars from the late Qing Dynasty till now. At the same time, the language of cross-talk's jape embodies the anima of Chinese culture for 5000 years, as well as plenty of linguistry.
