Studies on the Chemical Constitu ents and Dtermination Method of Viticis Fructus Speciality: Chinese Materia Medica Author: Guan Ren-jun Tut or: Yu Zong-yuan Abstract Viticis Fructus (Mangjingzi in chinese name) is a traditional chinese medicine prepared from the fruit of Vitex trifolia L. It has been recorded in Chinese Pharmacopoeia as a folk medicine. According to the theory of chinese medicine, Viticis Fructus has the funtion of Dispersing wind-heat and Removing heat for treating head and ocular disease, which has been used in the treatment of h eadache, cold, cancer, migraine, eyepain and rheumatism. For future reasonable developmen t and application, we have systematically studied on the chemical const ituents and determination met hods of Vicitis Fructus. Our research results are as follows. 1. Literature review According to the study purpose, conducted a li terature review rela ting to the source, chemical constituents, pharmacological effect, Processing Technique, quality of Vicistis Fructus. 2. Study on chemical constituents in fruits of Viticis Fructus. In this thesis, the chemical constituents of the extracts wi th 95% ethanol from Viticis Fructus were studie d. pounds were isolated with slica ge l, high-spee d counter-current chromatograp hy, etc. On the basis of analysis NMR, MS and mea suring of physic-chemical ch aracters, 11 chemical structure were elucidated as castic in(I), artemetin(II),5,7,3,4-tetrahydroxy-flavone6-C- β-D-glucopyranoside(III), 3,4-dihydr ox-ybenzoic(IV), 4-hydroxybenzoic(V), 3,6,7-tr imethylquercetagetin (VI), ferulaldehyde (VII), β-stiosterol(VIII), daucoste rol(IX), vitexilactone(X), vanillin(IX). Of all these c ompounds, III was isolated for the first time from Viticis Frutus. 3. Simultaneous quantitative analysis of f our pounds in Viticis Fructus by ponents assay by single marker.
