Obsession in striving for beauty, acceptance, and most of all perfection. It explores the dichotomy involved in both loving and hating yourself. As Nina ( Natalie Portman ) begins to lose her mind it es more difficult for the viewer to tell what is real and what isn't. This is the point at which the film starts blurring the lines between psychological thriller and horror. The movie can make one feel fortable at times, grossed out, and tense.
