摘要
车牌识别系统是现代智能交通管理系统的核心组成部分,是图像处理、神经网络和模式识别等技术的
综合应用。
本文介绍了车牌识别系统的一般构成,包括车牌图像预处理、车牌字符分割和车牌字符识别等三个重
要组成部分,并分别进行深入研究。
车牌图像预处理方面,针对实际系统的需要首先对图像进行灰度变换,再根据车牌本身的先验特征采
用合适的方法进行图象二值化,并在文中比较了各种不同的图象二值化方法的优劣以及其所适用的场合。
车牌字符分割部分的研究,是建立在图像经倾斜校正成为规范化的图像基础上,通过字符串凹凸轮廓
的检测、字符边缘识别对车牌进行分割。
对字符识别的研究,是通过对分割出的车牌进行归一化和细化预处理,进而提高字符识别的准确性和
速度。然后根据不同的统计特征设计了不同的 BP 神经网络分类器,分别进行车牌的字符识别。
在上述理论研究的基础上,本文通过 C++ Builder 编程实现了相关功能模块,利用这些模块构造了车
牌识别系统软件平台。并通过实际交通环境下拍摄的车牌图片对上述平台进行了试验,研究结果表明该系
统性能良好,能实现较准确分割和识别字符,可广泛应用。

Abstract
License Plate Recognition System is the ponent of the modern intelligent traffic management
system,it is the Integration application of image processing, works and pattern recognition technologies.
This paper introduces the posing of license plate recognition system, including three important
components,such as the license plate image preprocessing, character segmentation and license plate character
recognition, and an in-depth study separately.
License plate image preprocessing, required for the actual system image, gray-scale transformation of the
image firstly,then based on their own a priori characteristics of plates to use the appropriate method of image
binarization pared in the text a variety of image binarization method and the merits of the occasion to
which it applies.
The research of license plate character segmentation is based on the image by the incline correction e
the basis of standardized images,through the string convex contour detection, the edge of recognition of license
plate character segmentation.
For the research of character recognition,is based on the normalized of divided license plate and detailed
pre-processing,thus improved the accuracy and speed of character recognit
