1 AUTUMN 2009 San Gabriel Fire Department Offers Free CERT Training The S an Gabriel Fire Department will be offe ring munity Emergency Response Team (CERT) course. The first class will be on November 10, from 6-9 . The remainder of the classes will be on November 11-12 and Novemb er 17-19. All classes w ill be held at Fire Station 51 located at 1303 S. Del Mar Ave., San Gabriel. A CERT member is someone trained and prep ared to respond after a disaster in their neighborhood. Each member plete all six three hour classes to e certified. The classes are scheduled to modate the needs of each participant. Topics covered munity disaster preparedness, team organization, medical operations, damage assessment, disaster simulati on, fire suppression, and li ght search and rescue.
