IT IS THE WORLD’S ONLY RESIDENCE OF THE HEAD OF STATE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON A REGULAR BASIS. ALTHOUGH ONLY 10 ROOMS FOR VISITORS TO VISIT, 200 MILLION VISITORS COME HERE EACH YEAR.
The White House was founded in 1792, built in 1800 and all built using limestone. In 1812, British and American have a war, then British set fire to the White House and the . Capitol. After that, people painted it white and put it as “The White House”.
Now, the White House covers about an area of 73 000 square meters, the main building are 26 meters tall and 52 meters wide. There’re 3 floors and more than 130 rooms in it.
The north of the first floor is the gate of the building. After it, there is the East Hall, the Green Hall, the Blue Hall, the Red Hall and the State Dining Room.
The presidents’ families live on the second floor. Mainly Lincoln bedroom, Queen bedroom, Treaty office, Map room and so on.
In front of the White House is a grass field. You can also called it “President of Garden”. At Easter, the president of the always has a party with his wife. The tradition has been more than 100 years of history.
