1966: and developed chemical ionization;
1969:Flowing afterglow and flow drift tube technique (FDT) developed by Ferguson and colleagues ;
1990s:On the basis of SIFT-MS,Innsbruke’s Lindinger team put forward the PTR-MS technology for the first time in combination with chemical ionization theory (1996) and drift tube model (1969).
In June of 1995, Lindinger: Acetonitrile and benzene in the breath of smokers and non-smokers investigated by PTR-MS;
In July of 1995, Lindinger: PTR-MS: Online Trace Gas Analysis at ppb Level.
1998,the first commercial PTR-MS instrument was produced by IONICON Analytik.
