摘 要
随着中美关系的日益加深，两国文化之间的碰撞和融合也在不断发生，这在很多作品中都得到体现。以《喜福会》为例，在这部小说中，美国出生并成长的孩子们，由于西方人的独立、叛逆及强烈的竞争意识，与她们母亲身上已经深深浸透的中国传统的独裁思想格格不入，因而中西方文化的冲击一触即发。这四位母亲虽然摆脱了封建制度的统治，但是她们的思想是植根于中国社会，她们想让自己的孩子在自己的驾驭之下，按照自己的想法幸福地生活。然而，那时西方的文化不是这样的。那时的西方，女子已经有获得了自由，得到了解放。在这样的情况下，文化冲突在母亲与孩子身上显现得淋漓尽致，因而，母子之间有了本不该有的烦扰。鉴于此，本文对中西方的文化冲突以及成因进行分析，旨在剖析冲突中隐藏的深刻的文化差异，以促进中美文化更多的相互包容，并营造一种和谐的文化氛围。

Abstract
With the deepening of Sino-US relations, the collision and fusion of cultures between the two countries also continue to occur, which in many works have been reflected. TakingThe Joy Luck Club for example, in this novel, the American born and raised children, due to the independent, rebellious and strong sense of petition, clash with the Chinese mothers who are deeply soaked with traditional authoritarian ideology, so the culture shock is going to happen imminently. Though these four mothers get rid of the feudal system, their thinking is rooted in Chinese society: they want their children to be under their control, in accordance with their own ideas and live happily. However, the Western culture is not the same case. At that time in the West, women have gained their freedom and been liberated. Under such circumstances, cultural conflicts in the mother and children appear most vividly
. Therefore, the unnecessary trouble between mother and child emerge. In view of this, the paper, through the analysis of western culture as well as the causes of conflict, tries to seek differencesbetween China and America hidden in the culture, and promote greater mutual tolerance between Chinese and American cultures and create a harmonious cultural atmosphere.
