G Ocean Colour Algorithm Working Group Meeting Max Planck Institute , Hamburg, 11-12 July 2005 From 11 to12 July 2005, the Ocean Colour Algorithm Working Group held a meeting in Hamburg. Dr. Roland Doerffer hosted the meeting in the Centre for Marine and Atmospheric Sciences in the Max Planck Institute, and Drs. Hubert Loisel, Emmanuel Devred, Nick Hoepffner, Paul Lyon, Robert Arnone, Helmut Schiller, and ZhongPing Lee attended the meeting. During this meeting, we discussed about the status of the report, issues we are facing, and actions we are going to take. And we also discussed further about the individual algorithms presented at the meeting and suggested changes that are necessary. Generally, we all agreed that we made progresses not only on the report, but more importantly on the idea of taking IOP as an important product (or products) for ocean color remote sensing. Most of the discussions were focused on ideas and examples of broadening the applications of IOP and on ideas of sharpen the message of the report. To further improve the report, the following were suggested: 1. paring algorithm outputs with inputs, Type II instead o
