When I was growing up, my parents always put family trips in the first place. Even when money
was tight, my parents made sure my brothers and I got plenty of new experiences and adventures from
a young age. Traveling with my family wasn蒺t always pleasant or enjoyable, but it always made for
good stories and crazy adventures. I am trying to be super aware of the lessons I am learning.
When you are traveling, there is no one to tell you who you should or shouldn蒺t be. Being
separated from friends and family for a bit is the best way to figure out who you are apart from
the influence of others. You are allowed total freedom to reinvent yourself however you蒺d like.
When traveling, you quickly learn that not everyone lives in 3鄄story houses in the suburbs. Not
everyone gets the privilege of being properly educated. Not everyone gets to come home to a home鄄
cooked meal at night. Meeting people with different backgrounds than your own can give you a new
appreciation for what you have.
